We aim to create familiar garments, not outlandish pieces, garments with a foot in the past and look to the future, nodding at a couple of things along the way. Vanishing Elephant is a Sydney based brand designed by Felix Chan, Huw Bennett and Arran Russell. The three friends bring a melting pot of prior experience to their menswear label: Chan was a buyer for Incu, Bennet had his own sales agency Hand In Glove, and Russell specialised as an art director and was behind UK brands Marshall Artist and Maharashi.
In 2004 Metropol launched a new menswear line targeting a consumer that prefers an exclusive, classic style combined with a modern contemporary look. Suit was created and profiled based on the best details from classic tailoring with an international and directional twist executed in exclusive and quality materials. The collections consists of jackets, trousers, outerwear, shirting, knitwear and jersey and gives retailers the added bonus of up to a 400% mark up.
For AW2010 Giles Deacon has got involved and designed part of the range and on top of that, there will be an opportunity for each store to have Fixed Gear London design and build a bike that will be completely limited to them. Further down the line, there is an option for each store to take orders on bikes and sell them direct to their customers.
